How it works
SidePlan is a free tool for Magic: The Gathering players who want to plan their sideboarding, matchup by matchup, and optionally share that plan with teammates.
1. Paste your decklist
Start by getting your decklist into SidePlan, however is easiest for you.
- Paste your main deck and sideboard as plain text, the same format you'd copy from MTGO, Arena, or Moxfield. SidePlan parses it automatically, no manual card entry needed.
- Or import a file exported from Arena or MTGO, including an MTGO .dek file, and SidePlan reads it the same way.
- Export or copy your list back out any time, in plain text, Arena, or MTGO format, ready to paste into your client.
- Upload as many decklists as you like, and create new versions as your list evolves.
2. Build your sideboard guide
Pick a decklist and start a guide: a spreadsheet-like grid where each row is a card and each column is a matchup, like "vs Burn" or "vs Control".
- Fill in copy counts to plan what comes in and what goes out for every matchup.
- Add a note to any matchup to write out your plan in your own words.
- Switch to a read-only summary view any time, or export the whole guide as a PDF or spreadsheet to take with you.
- The guide stays in sync with your decklist: new cards get a row, removed cards drop off, and quantities adjust automatically.
3. Share with your team
Create a team and invite up to two teammates by email, nickname, or a shareable link.
- Choose each person's role: editors can change the guide directly, suggesters propose changes that you review before accepting.
- Teammates can also suggest decklist changes; when you accept them, a new version is created and the guide updates to match.
- Everyone sees each other's changes live, and you can tell who else is looking at the guide with you.
Decklist versioning
Each new version is a full snapshot of your list. To prevent misuse, SidePlan enforces a similarity gate: a new version must share at least 50% of its card slots with the previous one. You can revert to any earlier version at any time. If you want to switch to a completely different deck, just create a new decklist.
Free tier
SidePlan is free to use. The current limits are: one active guide, one team with up to three members, and unlimited decklists.
